At The HealthCare Group, our employees are our most important assets. Our comprehensive benefits package is available to all full-time and part-time employees who are scheduled to work at least 40 hours every two weeks. Our package includes:

Time-Off Programs
The HealthCare Group offers a combination of vacation time and personal time, collectively referred to as Benefit Time. top

Benefit Time
Benefit Time accruals vary based on your employment status (hourly or salaried), scheduled hours and years of service with the company. As an employee of The HealthCare Group, you are eligible to use benefit time after completing six months of employment.

For instance, hourly employees with less than five years of service accrue 3.7 hours of Benefit Time every two weeks, or 12 days per year. Hourly accruals increase to 5.24 hours every two weeks or 17 days per year after five years and to 6.77 hours or 22 days after 10 years of service.

Salaried employees with less than five years of service accrue 5.24 hours of Benefit Time every two weeks or 17 days per year and 6.77 hours every two weeks or 22 days per year after five years of service. top

Sick Time
Through our Sick Time program, the company provides a valuable benefit when you must be away from work because you are ill.

Full-time hourly employees are given a bank of 180 hours of Sick Time at the time of hire and can accrue up to 480 hours of time. Hourly employees can access their Sick Time banks after completing six months of service with the company.

Full-time salaried employees are given a bank of 520 hours of Sick Time at the time of hire and can access their bank immediately.  top

Holidays
The HealthCare Group observes six legal/fixed holidays:

  • New Year’s Day

  • Memorial Day

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Day

All fixed holidays are paid as they occur and will not require you to use your benefit time. Two floating holidays will be provided per year (16 hours) and may be pro-rated for new employees starting after March 31.  top

Medical Insurance
MPlan is available to new part-time and full-time employees working at least 40 hours every two weeks.

MPlan offers thousands of physicians and many hospitals in Indiana. These physicians are organized by health networks. The network physicians and hospitals provide all your healthcare needs, from routine physical check-ups to treatment of complex problems.

MPlan is easy on the pocketbook. It doesn’t have large deductibles, instead, its members pay a small co-pay at the time of services and when filling prescriptions.  top

MPlan Vision Buy-Up Program
MPlan provides employees the opportunity to purchase additional vision benefits. If you elect health coverage, you and each covered family member receives one annual eye exam and a 20% discount off of frames and lenses. In addition, we give you the opportunity to purchase enhanced vision benefits.

The enhanced benefit offers lenses each year (single vision, lined bifocal and trifocal), frames every two years and a contact lens allowance each year, after applicable co-pays. top

Dental Insurance
The HealthCare Group Dental Plan is a fully insured dental plan, which provides its members with choice.

As a member of our plan, you can elect a dental network provider, or you can choose to go out-of-network to any dental provider*. The choice is yours.

Regardless of your decision, you will find competitive coverage for procedures ranging from preventive (teeth cleanings, x-rays) to restorative (crowns, bridges, dentures). top

* Benefit level and structure will vary slightly between in-network and out-of-network procedures and services.

Life Insurance
For your family’s peace of mind, we offer basic life insurance coverage equal to 1.5 times your annual base salary up to $100,000 maximum. This coverage is effective after six months of employment, at no cost to you. You may elect to purchase additional coverage for you and your dependents by participating in our voluntary supplemental life insurance program, our dependent life insurance program or our personal accident insurance program.  top

Short-Term Disability Insurance
Want to make sure that you have continued income during periods of brief illness or injury, which prevent you from working? Our short-term disability plan may be what the doctor ordered. You can replace up to approximately 60 % of your base earnings with this voluntary plan.  top

Long-Term Disability Insurance
While you are working, your paycheck can cover your daily expenses. However, if you become seriously disabled and unable to work, those expenses continue even though you are not at work. Most people insure their cars, lives, home and health. Protecting your salary is important too.

Our group Long-Term Disability plan provides you with income protection in the event you have an accident or illness that results in your inability to work. This employer-paid benefit covers 60 % of your base pay if you are disabled after a 90-day waiting period. Coverage is effective 12 months from your date of benefits eligible employment.  top

Long-Term Disability Buy-up Option
You may purchase this optional addendum to our Long-Term Disability benefit to increase your coverage by 6 2/3 %. You may enroll in this benefit during the first open enrollment period following your eligibility for Long-Term Disability coverage.  top

Flexible Spending Accounts
A flexible spending account allows you to have your pay reduced on a pre-tax basis to pay certain health and dependent care expenses. At The HealthCare Group, we offer two different flexible spending accounts – one is for dependent care expenses, the other is for health care expenses. You may participate in one of these accounts, both or neither. The choice is yours.  top

Tuition Reimbursement
The HealthCare Group recognizes the importance of continuing education and will reimburse our full-time staff for tuition costs related to undergraduate or graduate courses of study, which are an approved degree track and will directly enhance your ability to perform your job.

Tuition reimbursement covers six credit hours per educational semester with an annual maximum of $1,200 per calendar year. top

Retirement Plan
The HealthCare Group realizes how personal planning and investing plays a major role in building retirement income.  With that in mind, The HealthCare Group has developed a plan to assist in supporting the type of retirement lifestyle you desire.

The HealthCare Group Retirement Plan is offered through Fidelity and has two sources of funding:

  • 401(k) voluntary deferral

  • Discretionary contribution (DC) made by The HealthCare Group

With The HealthCare Group Retirement Plan, as a full or part-time employee, you can voluntarily contribute up to 80 percent of your pre-tax earnings ($14,000 maximum) into the 401(k) portion of the plan. The HealthCare Group will contribute 5.75% of your earned income up to the Social Security taxable wage base and 11.45% of earned income in excess of the taxable wage base into your DC account on a monthly basis.  top
